Abstract:
Intestinal-type gastric carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma have similar histological appearances. In the early stages of both disorders, undifferentiated cells capable of division are found on mucosal surfaces. These undifferentiated surface cells may be important in the pathogenesis of both neoplasms.
