Background:
A 73-year old man was admitted for ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation due to symptomatic sustained VT-initiated VVI-ICD therapies.
Results:
Based on voltage mapping, the initial ablation did not result in the endpoint noninducibility of VT. Using a new visualization technique, we mapped the discriminated local abnormal ventricular activations (LAVAs) within the scar which could then be ablated successfully.
Conclusions:
This new visualization method may be helpful especially in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy, extensive scars, and frequent LAVAs to identify further areas suited for ablation.
