Area of Science:

  • Pediatric Surgery
  • Dermatology
  • Urology

Background:

  • Scrotal-perineal hemangiomas are rare benign vascular tumors.
  • These lesions can present diagnostic challenges due to their location and potential to mimic other conditions.

Observation:

  • A 14-year-old male presented with a subcutaneous scrotal-perineal mass.
  • The mass clinically resembled an inguinal hernia, posing a diagnostic dilemma.

Findings:

  • Histopathological examination was crucial for confirming the diagnosis of hemangioma.
  • The tumor was characterized as a scrotal-perineal hemangioma.

Implications:

  • Early and accurate diagnosis of scrotal-perineal hemangioma is essential.
  • En bloc excision is the recommended definitive treatment for this condition.
  • Understanding this differential diagnosis is important for pediatric surgeons and urologists.
