Background:

Conductive, mixed hearing loss, and single-sided deafness often require advanced audiological solutions.
Semi-implantable transcutaneous bone conduction implants offer an alternative to traditional hearing aids and surgical interventions.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the surgical positioning experience with the Bonebridge (BB) device.
To assess the audiological and quality of life outcomes following BB implantation.

Main Methods:

Retrospective case review of 4 adult patients with conductive/mixed hearing loss or single-sided deafness.
Unilateral implantation using presigmoid transmastoid or retrosigmoid approaches.
Audiological evaluation and quality of life assessment using GHSI and GBI questionnaires.

No intra- or postoperative complications were reported.
Speech test performance improved from <10% unaided to 100% aided at 65 dB.
Significant improvements in quality of life were observed based on GHSI and GBI scores.
