Topical intrapocket anesthesia during scaling and root planing: a randomized clinical trial

A eutectic mixture of lidocaine and prilocaine (EMLA) effectively controls pain during scaling and root planing (SRP), performing comparably to injectable lidocaine and outperforming benzocaine. EMLA offers a viable anesthetic alternative for SRP procedures.
