Children exhibit similar visual selective attention patterns to adults, as evidenced by the N2pc brain activity. This finding indicates children use attentional resources to select targets amidst distractors.

  • EEG data was analyzed at parietal electrodes (P7, P8) for three display types: lateral target/lateral distractor, lateral target/midline distractor, and midline target/lateral distractor.

    • This N2pc effect was observed in displays with both lateral and midline distractors, but only when the target was lateral.
