Summary

Granulomatous amebic encephalitis (GAE) in an immunocompromised patient presented as the initial sign of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Imaging findings from FDG-PET and MRI aided in early diagnosis of this rare, fatal infection.
