Background:

  • HtrA1 (High-temperature requirement A1) is a serine protease implicated as a tumor suppressor in various human cancers.
  • Its down-regulation is observed in many cancers, suggesting a role in tumorigenesis.
  • HtrA1 is considered a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the role and expression of HtrA1 in meningioma, a common primary brain tumor.
  • To evaluate the association between HtrA1 expression levels and clinicopathological features of meningioma, including tumor grade and recurrence.

Main Methods:

  • Immunohistochemistry was employed to quantify HtrA1 expression in 100 meningioma tissue samples.
