Vascular Spasm

The vascular phase, also known as vasospasm, is the initial stage of hemostasis, crucial for preventing excessive bleeding when a blood vessel is injured. Background:

Priapism, a persistent erection, requires urgent management.
Corpus cavernosum hematoma is a rare penile injury.
Differential diagnosis of penile pain and erection is crucial.

Observation:

A 42-year-old male presented with penile pain and partial erection.
Physical examination revealed a palpable space-occupying lesion within the corpus cavernosum.
Malignant workup yielded negative results.

Findings:

Imaging confirmed a unilateral corpus cavernosum hematoma.
The hematoma mimicked symptoms of priapism.
The condition resolved spontaneously without intervention.

Implications:

Corpus cavernosum hematoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of priapism.
Imaging plays a key role in diagnosing penile hematomas.
Conservative management may be sufficient for resolving corpus cavernosum hematomas.
