Cavernous sinus syndrome (CSS), a rare condition affecting cranial nerves, can be caused by meningioma. Early diagnosis of this rare tumor is crucial for better patient outcomes.

Background:
- Cavernous sinus syndrome (CSS) is a rare clinical entity resulting from the compromise of cranial nerves within the cavernous sinus.
- Characterized by ophthalmoplegia, proptosis, ocular congestion, trigeminal sensory loss, and Horner's syndrome, CSS necessitates thorough etiological investigation.
Observation:
- A 53-year-old male presented with a history of stabbing headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, ocular pain, ptosis, and ophthalmoplegia.
- Comprehensive diagnostic workup revealed a meningioma as the underlying cause of his cavernous sinus syndrome.
Findings:
- Meningioma, a primary intracranial tumor, can manifest as a cause of cavernous sinus syndrome.
- Despite advanced neuroimaging, determining the etiology of CSS can remain challenging in certain cases.
Implications:
- This case highlights the importance of considering meningioma in the differential diagnosis of CSS.
- Prompt diagnosis and management of CSS, regardless of etiology, are critical for improving patient prognosis and preventing long-term sequelae.
