Minimal endoscopic changes in GERD patients are common, but only mucosal thickening significantly correlates with esophagitis severity. Increased BMI and hiatal hernia also showed associations in this study.

- Elevated body mass index and hiatal hernia presence are associated factors in GERD patients with minimal endoscopic changes.
