    Summary

    Disseminated sclerosis patients often have normal hearing sensitivity but impaired spatial hearing. This vertical plane sound localization deficit is a key diagnostic symptom, even in early disease stages.

    Background:

    • Disseminated sclerosis (DS) is a demyelinating disease affecting the central nervous system.
    • Hearing function is often considered preserved in DS patients.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate auditory function in patients with disseminated sclerosis.
    • To assess hearing sensitivity, loudness, discrimination, and spatial hearing abilities.
