Background:

Ugandan nurses are vital for healthcare in remote areas, but high vacancy rates impede care delivery.
A 112-bed health center in Uganda serves 250,000 people, with nurses supporting remote village health teams.
A new nursing school aims to prepare graduates for primary care in remote villages, aligning with the hospital.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe an intercollaborative outreach initiative between a US nursing team and a Ugandan nursing school.
To assess the nursing curriculum and provide educational strategies and support.
To strengthen nursing education for primary care in remote Ugandan regions.

Main Methods:

A US nursing team conducted assessments, provided teaching, and facilitated simulation exercises.
The team engaged in remote village outreach activities.
Educational strategies and modalities were shared with the Ugandan school of nursing.
