To finding ways of prevent or cure vascular calcification may leads to not only a healthy longevity but also medical expenditure reduction. However, the molecular mechanism underlying this pathogenic process is still obscure. To clarify the mechanism of vascular calcification, the development of animal models that exhibit extensive and robust vascular calcification is an important issue for research in vascular biology.
