[Hydrostatic pressure in the duodenum during the immediate postoperative period after resection of the stomach]

Twenty-nine patients were examined after resection of the stomach by various methods. The hydrostatic pressure value was found to be independent on the method of resection. It was maximum on the third postoperative day in all patients. No correlation was established between the hydrostatic pressure and the amount of duodenal contents discharged along the nasoduodenal catheter.
