Summary

Computerized tomography (CT) successfully diagnosed arterial calcification in an infant, visualizing abnormal arteries in the chest, abdomen, and extremities. Autopsy confirmed the CT findings, revealing intact elastic fibers in affected vessels.

Background:

  • Arterial calcification of infancy is a rare condition affecting coronary arteries.
  • Diagnostic imaging for this condition, particularly using computerized tomography (CT), has not been previously reported.

Observation:

  • Abnormal arteries, including those affected by coronary obstructive disease, were visualized.
