Osteopontin: a new facilitating factor in alopecia areata pathogenesis?

Osteopontin (OPN) levels are elevated in alopecia areata (AA) patients compared to controls. While DPCP treatment improved recovery, it did not significantly reduce OPN plasma levels in patients with hair loss.
