The paper deals with the course of different forms of chronic hepatitis in pregnancy, as well as with the effect of chronic hepatitis on the course of gestation and on the fetus. Suggestions are put forward as to conditions which still agree and those which disagree with pregnancy when the woman already suffers from chronic hepatitis. The procedure of immunoprophylaxis of newborns from HBsAg-positive mothers is also presented.
