Introduction:
Bladder augmentation is commonly used in neurological and other congenital anomalies of the lower urinary tract. In pregnant women, this reconstructive surgery may affect pregnancy and delivery. The obstetrical consequences of these urological procedures are scarcely reported in literature.
Material And Method:
Eight pregnancies in 6 pregnant women with ileocystoplasty were followed in our institution between 1998 and 2014.
Results:
Urinary tract infections were the most frequent undesirable record event (5 patients, 7 pregnancies). Obstetrical complications were not more frequent compared to common pregnancies. Delivery was programmed at 37WA. Cesarean section was favoured in this group although natural delivery is possible.
Conclusion:
Urological complications were the major problem in this series. The type of delivery depends on the past surgical history and the obstetrical prognosis.
