CSF tau correlates with CJD disease severity and cognitive decline

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) tau levels correlate with neurological deficits and cognitive decline in familial Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (fCJD) patients. Higher tau indicates greater neuronal damage and disease severity.
