1Valerie Satkoske MSW, PhD, is the Director of Ethics for Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV, and the ethics consultant for The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston and the Rural Emergency Trauma Institute of West Virginia. She is also Associate Director of the West Virginia University Center for Health Law and Ethics. David A. Kappel, MD, FACS, is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at West Virginia University who has practiced plastic surgery for more than 35 years. He has multiple publications and presentations in the field of reconstructive plastic surgery, including hand trauma and maxillofacial trauma, and bioethics for the prehospital provider. E. Phillips Polack, MD, MA, FACS, is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at West Virginia University. He is a recognized authority in communication and has lectured extensively on the topic of medical communication. He has practiced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for well more than three decades. Harmony K. Mayle RN, BSN, is a nurse manager at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV, with 10 years' experience in plastic surgery nursing. She has been an active member of the hospital-based ethics committee since September 2009. She has been a member of ASPSN since May 2012.
