Fentanyl-induced cough is a risk factor for postoperative nausea and vomiting

Fentanyl-induced cough (FIC) during anesthesia increases the risk of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Patients experiencing FIC were significantly more likely to develop PONV, highlighting FIC as a predictive risk factor.
