Area of Science:

  • Neurology
  • Rheumatology
  • Systemic Vasculitis

Background:

  • Behçet's disease is a systemic vasculitis.
  • Characterized by oral and genital ulcers.
  • Neurological involvement (neuro-Behçet) is uncommon.

Observation:

  • Neuro-Behçet predominantly affects males.
  • Onset typically occurs 2-4 years after initial symptoms.
  • Cases may present with pseudotumoral brain lesions.

Findings:

  • Presents two cases of neuro-Behçet diagnosed after identifying pseudotumoral brain lesions.
  • Highlights the occurrence of pseudotumoral lesions in neuro-Behçet.
  • Includes a literature review on this manifestation.

Implications:

  • Suggests considering neuro-Behçet in patients with unexplained pseudotumoral brain lesions.
  • Emphasizes the diverse neurological presentations of Behçet's disease.
  • Contributes to understanding rare vasculitic manifestations.
