[Modeling hyperparathyroid osteodystrophy in animals]

For the investigation of roentgenologic signs of osteodystrophy, especially of their early signs and symptoms, an animal model is proposed. The roentgenologic, micro-roentgenographic and pathomorphologic skeletal image of the disease can be studied in this model over all stages, which is useful for the understanding of pathologic transformations of bone structure in hyperparathyroid osteodystrophy. Especially micro-roentgenography is able to visualize changes of bone architecture in the early stages of the disease.
