Self-neglect in housing has attracted growing interest from health and social care professionals over recent years. A complex issue, lying somewhere between a psychopathology and a lifestyle choice, between a private disorder and one which has consequences on the immediate environment, its clinical approach requires us to reconsider our practices to bring into being the message potential in the housing of the person presenting self-neglect.
