Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is significantly associated with acute stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA). This hospital-based study found RLS in 15% of stroke/TIA patients versus 3% of controls.

- The study's cross-sectional design prevents establishing a causative relationship.
