  • Eighteen patients with composite tissue defects underwent reconstruction using various chimeric groin free flaps between 2010 and 2014.
  • Flaps were designed based on the superficial circumflex iliac artery (SCIA), with sizes tailored to individual defects.
  • Reconstructions included cutaneous-cutaneous, musculo-cutaneous, and osteo-cutaneous variations.

Findings:

  • A total of 18 chimeric groin free flaps were successfully used, including 12 cutaneous-cutaneous, 1 musculo-cutaneous, and 5 osteo-cutaneous types.
