Genetic Case-Control Study for Eight Polymorphisms Associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This study identified genetic variants associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) susceptibility in the Egyptian population. Specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in TNFB, MTHFR, TGFB1, and VDR genes are linked to RA risk.

- Several studied SNPs, including those in TNFB, MTHFR, TGFB1, and VDR (ApaI, BsmI, TaqI), potentially contribute to RA susceptibility in the Egyptian population.
- VDR-FokI SNP was not found to be associated with RA in this cohort.
- These findings highlight specific genetic markers relevant to RA in Egyptians, warranting further investigation.
