Louisiana's Medical Review Panel

Since 1975, professional liability claims against health care providers in the state of Louisiana have been screened by medical review panels, which are composed of three physicians and one attorney. The purpose of the panels is to weed out frivolous lawsuits and aid the prompt settlement of meritorious claims.
