    A rare sella turcica abscess was found during surgery for a pituitary tumor. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for survival from this dangerous intrasellar lesion.

    • High mortality rates associated with sella turcica abscesses necessitate prompt intervention.

    Implications:

    • Early diagnosis, high-dose antibiotics, and surgical intervention are vital for reducing mortality.
    • Sella turcica abscess should be considered in the differential diagnosis of sellar masses, especially with a history of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea, sphenoid sinusitis, or meningitis.
