Background:

Observation:

  • A 46-year-old woman presented with a thoracolumbar intraspinal dermoid tumor.
  • The tumor was partially excised surgically, leading to clinical improvement.

Findings:

  • Post-operative MRI revealed residual tumor extending to the T10 vertebral level.
  • Complete tumor removal was challenging due to adherence and tumor length.

Implications:

  • Conservative management and observation may be preferable to aggressive resection when complete removal is difficult.
  • Reoperation should be considered if tumor regrowth leads to new neurological symptoms.
