The dental pulp stem cell niche based on aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 expression

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1) is expressed in human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) residing near blood vessels and nerves. ALDH1 may serve as a reliable marker for identifying DPSCs with mesenchymal stem cell characteristics.
