Intrusive Luxation in Primary Teeth: A Case Report.

Summary

Accurate diagnosis of intrusive luxation in primary teeth is crucial. Correctly identifying tooth displacement prevents damage to permanent successors, avoiding long-term dental complications.

Background:

Intrusive luxation, or central dislocation, is a severe dental injury caused by axial impact.
This trauma extensively damages the periodontal ligament, bone, and neurovascular bundle.
Primary tooth intrusion poses risks to developing permanent successors, especially in early stages.

Observation:

A case of primary tooth intrusion initially misdiagnosed as avulsion is presented.
The affected tooth, an upper right central incisor, was found lodged in the nasal floor.

Findings:

Surgical extraction of the intruded primary incisor was performed through the nose.
The study highlights the importance of accurate diagnosis in managing intrusive luxation.
