Background:

A novel interactive web tool, DecideGuide, was developed to support shared decision-making within dementia-care networks.
The tool integrates a chat function for communication, a step-by-step decision-making module, and an individual opinion feature covering eight dementia-related life domains.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the user-friendliness, user acceptance, and satisfaction with the DecideGuide.
To gather participants' opinions on the tool's utility in dementia-related decision-making.

Main Methods:

A 5-month field study involving 19 participants across four dementia-care networks.
Data collection via structured interviews (start, middle, end), observations of home visits, and user-logged data within the DecideGuide.

Main Results:

User-friendliness was adequate for case managers and most informal caregivers; older participants experienced difficulties with tablet use.
The chat function was highly valued for communication and discussing difficult issues; the 'deciding together' function requires improved instructions.
Participants reported the DecideGuide helped structure thoughts, increased involvement, and facilitated sharing of daily issues.

Conclusions:

The DecideGuide was perceived as valuable for decision-making in dementia care.
