  • He ceased smoking 14 years prior to presentation.

Findings:

  • Pulmonary function tests revealed impaired lung function.
  • Forced vital capacity (FVC) was 70% of predicted.
  • Diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO) was 43% of predicted.

Implications:

  • The findings suggest potential interstitial lung disease or other occupational lung disease.
  • Further diagnostic workup is warranted to determine the etiology of the observed pulmonary impairment.
  • Occupational exposures and smoking history are critical factors in evaluating respiratory conditions.
