Summary

Idiopathic dacryoadenitis is the most common lacrimal gland inflammation, often treated successfully with surgery. Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related dacryoadenitis diagnosis requires strict criteria due to nonspecific IgG4-positive plasma cell presence.
