Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis on a Cardiology In-Patient Unit: A Surprising Result?

A new protocol improved adherence to venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis guidelines in cardiology patients. However, a significant number of high-risk patients still did not receive recommended VTE prevention therapy.
