A new moderately halophilic, photoautotrophic bacterium, Thiorhodococcus fuscus sp. nov. strain JA363T, was identified from Chilika lagoon sediment. This bacterium exhibits unique photosynthetic pigments and fatty acid profiles, expanding our understanding of microbial diversity.
