Coding-complete sequencing classifies parrot bornavirus 5 into a novel virus species

Researchers sequenced an avian bornavirus from a macaw with proventricular dilatation disease. The findings suggest a new bornavirus species, provisionally named Psittaciform 2 bornavirus, distinct from other known avian and mammalian strains.
