[Echocardiography in the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension in obstructive lung diseases]

The authors carried out serial ultrasonic examinations of the pulmonary artery and its valves, deformation index of the left ventricle and rate of early diastolic closing of the mitral valve in 72 patients with obstructive diseases of the lungs. It is concluded that ultrasonography is of high diagnostic value in this category of patients.
