The human body harbors a vast and diverse viral community known as the human virome. The virome includes bacteriophages that infect bacteria, and eukaryotic viruses that infect human cells. Summary

Adenovirus 36 (Adv36) DNA was detected in the visceral adipose tissue of 19% of overweight or obese adults. This suggests a link between Adv36 infection and obesity, warranting further research.
