Summary

Visceral Leishmaniasis in Brazil, caused by Leishmania chagasi, can present with skin lesions in two ways: during active disease in immunocompromised patients or as immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome after treatment. Both mimic post-kala-azar dermal Leishmaniasis.
