[Effect of electrolytes, components of peritoneal dialysis fluid, on the stability of glucose]
Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica
|January 1, 1989
Abstract:
Dependence of stability of glucose upon electrolyte composition of solutions used for peritoneal dialysis was studied. Stability of glucose was estimated by determinations of formed 5-HMF. It has been stated that stability of glucose depends on the kind of electrolytes present in the solution, glucose concentration and conditions of thermal sterilization. The highest levels of 5-HMF were found in glucose solutions containing sodium acetate and sodium chloride, while glucose proved more stabile in solutions containing calcium chloride and magnesium chloride.
