Oral cavity lipoma: a case report

• A 56-year-old female patient with diabetes presented with a rare intraoral lipoma.
• The lipoma was situated near the mental foramen, necessitating careful surgical dissection.

Findings:

• The patient underwent successful surgical excision of the intraoral lipoma under general anesthesia.
• One-year follow-up revealed no recurrence or abnormalities, with no reported numbness, indicating successful nerve preservation.

Implications:

• This case underscores the need for meticulous surgical approaches in managing intraoral lipomas, especially when adjacent to critical nerves.
• Further research into the potential association between diabetes and the occurrence of oral lipomas is warranted.
