[Tuberculosis of the middle ear]

Abstract:
A female patient with tuberculosis of the middle ear diagnosed postsurgically by patohistologic granulations from cavum tympani is presented. Tuberculosis of the middle ear is a rare occurrence today due to the preventive measures like vaccination of the newborns and specific chemotherapy. However, the disease may represent a diagnostic problem. Together with a case report a review of the literature on tuberculosis of middle ear has been given.
