Loss of BRCA-associated protein 1 (BAP1) is frequent in epithelioid malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) and may indicate improved survival. BAP1 expression aids in distinguishing MPM subtypes and reactive cells, though caution is advised for small biopsies.
