Systemic Inflammation in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Association with Muscle Function and Nutritional Status.

Systemic inflammation in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) patients is linked to better muscle function, not obesity. Levels of interleukin-1 (IL-1) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) were higher in those with preserved muscle strength.
