Abstract:
We implement the spectral renormalization group on different deterministic nonspatial networks without translational invariance. We calculate the thermodynamic critical exponents for the Gaussian model on the Cayley tree and the diamond lattice and find that they are functions of the spectral dimension, d[over ̃]. The results are shown to be consistent with those from exact summation and finite-size scaling approaches. At d[over ̃]=2, the lower critical dimension for the Ising universality class, the Gaussian fixed point is stable with respect to a ψ^{4} perturbation up to second order. However, on generalized diamond lattices, non-Gaussian fixed points arise for 2

Thermal Sigmatropic Reactions: Overview
Sigmatropic shifts are classified based on an order term [i, j ], where i and j indicate the number of atoms across which each end of the σ bond migrates. Below are examples of a [3,3] sigmatropic shift in 1,5-hexadiene, referred...

Crystal Field Theory - Tetrahedral and Square Planar Complexes
Crystal field theory (CFT) is applicable to molecules in geometries other than octahedral. In octahedral complexes, the lobes of the dx2−y2 and dz2 orbitals point directly at the ligands. For tetrahedral complexes, the d orbitals remain in place, but with only four ligands located between the axes. None of the orbitals points directly at the tetrahedral ligands. However, the dx2−y2 and dz2 orbitals (along the Cartesian axes) overlap with the ligands less than the dxy,...
