Abstract:
Blood banks play a key role in the support of transplantation programs and can exert a considerable positive influence on the quality of care for the patients. Although each organ transplantation program has its idiosyncrasies, the basic necessities are the same for all programs and include careful long-term and short-term planning and the establishment of lucid, specific procedures for every activity related to the program.
