Abstract:
In a recent technical comment regarding our analysis of the scaling of blood pressure with body mass in mammals (White and Seymour 2014), Packard (2015) argues that the trends in our graphs do not accurately reflect the relationship between the original variables, and that neither the graphics nor the accompanying statistical analyses provide strong support for the conclusions from the study, namely that larger mammals have higher arterial blood pressures. Here we take the opportunity to respond to these criticisms.
